After 10 years as a part of the UtiliCon family of companies, Advanced Power and Lighting Services, LLC (APL) has merged with Utility Lines Construction Services (ULCS). The division will operate under Region Manager Greg Whitley and Area Manager Matt Tatum.
APL, founded in 1994 and based in Hixson, Tennessee, was acquired by UtiliCon in 2011. It is a utility contractor that provides a wide range of services for investor- and public-owned electric utilities, municipalities, construction companies, manufacturers, developers, and other entities in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia.
APL’s service offerings include underground power and fiber optic line installation and maintenance; overhead power line construction and maintenance; electric meter installation, maintenance and reading; and storm and emergency response and restoration.
Utility Lines Construction Services (ULCS) delivers electric and gas utility construction and maintenance services for investor-owned utilities, cooperatives, municipalities, large industrial manufacturers, government, general contractors, developers and EPC firms. Formed in 2000 from small beginnings, ULCS now boasts more than 2,500 non-union employees in 15 states safely performing utility transmission and distribution infrastructure work throughout the Mid-Atlantic, the Delmarva Peninsula, the Southeast and the South regions of the United States.
APL has merged with ULCS, enhancing our power utility infrastructure construction services in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia.
