On November 4, Utility Lines Construction Services was officially awarded the 2022 Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award. In order to receive this award, at least seven percent of new hires must be veterans, or the company’s workforce must meet the following requirements: seven percent of veteran employees in the workforce; 75 percent of veteran employees retained; and have a veteran organization, resource group or leadership program.
After the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act of 2017 was created, the Department of Labor’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service began the HIRE Vets Medallion Program. Thanks to raised awareness, the number of employers earning the HIRE Vets Medallion Award has increased exponentially year after year with 849 employers receiving the award in 2021.
