Since its inception in 2018, ULCS has partnered with Coastal Carolina Community College and the United States Marine Corps (USMC) SkillBridge through its Powerline Apprentice Program. During the 14-week program, students enrolled in the Powerline Apprentice Program learn fundamental skills needed to launch a career with electrical utilities. The program’s emphasis on safety aligns with ULCS’s values, offering students the opportunity to earn a number of certifications including First Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, and a Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

USMC SkillBridge program works with military veterans to build a career and learn a trade after completing active duty.

District Safety & Training Supervisor Jeff Vaughn visits each class to discuss the Linework Industry and possible careers with ULCS. Through this program, ULCS has found several new employees. We are proud to continue supporting the Coastal Carolina Community College and USMC SkillBridge as they educate the next generation of lineworkers.
